Everything changed when a huge starship landed on the slum planet. Ruan Qiu was forced to live with her uncle, who initially called her “little waste” but eventually softened to calling her “poor little Qiu.” While her uncle didn’t treat her badly materially, Ruan Qiu missed her boyfriend and wanted to find him.

Before she could convince her uncle to let her leave, their planet was suddenly attacked by a group of star pirates. These pirates, led by the number one villain in the book, were known for leaving nothing in their wake. The leader, called the Devil of the Desolate Star, was young, with a terrifying reputation for being cruel and bloodthirsty.

To Ruan Qiu’s shock, the leader of the star pirates turned out to be her own boyfriend—the one who was poor, handsome, and always kind to her. The boyfriend demanded, “Give Ruan Qiu back to me, and I might consider leaving you in one piece.”

Seeing her boyfriend’s familiar face, Ruan Qiu’s mind went blank.
