百花深处

Deep in the flowers lived a poor girl named Hua’er. Hua’er was a night watchman, and whenever the night fell, she would pick up a bamboo clapper with her slender hands and follow behind the guards, calling out to the dead souls. Second Master Bai was a light sleeper. Every time he tried to fall asleep, her trembling voice would enter his ears and disturb his rest. Unable to take it any longer, he eventually decided to marry her and bring her home, shut her up and have a peaceful night’s sleep.

Unexpectedly, when the matchmaker entered and barely even sat down, she was immediately driven away by the stubborn Hua’er: “I would rather marry anyone but that infamous Second Master Bai!”
