In 1965, the FBI’s Federal Bureau of Investigation targeted five of Demercy’s Mafia families.

Enter FBI agent Wayne Boyd, who infiltrated the Benedetti family, and his wife, Liliana Boyd, who secretly assisted in the investigation.

But in 1970, when their cover gets blown, death comes back to haunt them, and Liliana travels back nine years to wake up in 1961 in Demercy.

In the distant past, before everything happened, and even before she met Wayne.

And the man who had taken her life, Theodoro Benedetti. He pushed her through the mud and shoved her back repeatedly.

As if he wanted her to return to the world of light and sunshine.

It was a ridiculously good intention.

“Nobility and innocence are the hardest things to keep in life, and I’ve given you many chances to go back.”

“…Did I ask you to? Have I asked you to protect my nobility and innocence?”

A hollow laugh, like a sigh, escaped from his lips.

Theodoro gazed into space with a bitter, scornful expression, and drew his pistol. He pointed it at the man and pulled the trigger without hesitation.

Bang!

…Bang!

It was a deliberate miss. The man screams in agony.

With two bullet wounds in his thighs, the man slumped to the ground. Flinging Liliana’s back in front of him, Theodoro ordered.

“Then kill him.”

I chose the darkness, to bring back the light…
