In a not-so-distant future, giant humanoid mobile weapons called Mobile Knights became widespread.

Kota Aoi was a boy who aimed to be a mobile weapons mechanic, and he had a childhood friend who dreamed of becoming a mobile weapons pilot.

The two eventually went their separate ways to fulfill their respective dreams while promising to meet again in the future.

And five years later, the two, who have accomplished their dreams did meet once more. However, the sudden betrayal of a decorated war hero led to a merciless massacre.

Kota’s childhood friend piloted her mobile weapon to protect him but was eventually killed. Kota despaired and cursed his own weakness.

“If there’s such a thing as reincarnation, I want to have power.”

“More than enough power to stand against this sort of senseless violence.”

And just when he thought his life had ended, he found himself having returned to five years in the past.

Thus, Kota vowed to save his precious childhood friend in his second chance at life by using all the knowledge he learned and honed in military school.
