The Hero is Disappointed in You

After being chosen by the Goddess, the hero Allen defeated the Demon King more diligently than anyone else. At the end of that long fight, all that was left for him was the betrayal of his companions and the cold gazes of the people.

“I want to go back to the past.”

“Pardon?”

“The wish you said you would grant if I defeated the Demon King, it’s to go back to the past.”

Allen makes a wish to the Goddess and returns to before all the adventures began. And he decides to live a completely different life than before.

“There is no free goodwill in my dictionary.”

After a grueling life as a world-saving Hero, Allen, disillusioned by the corruption of his comrades and the ingratitude of humanity, makes a desperate wish: to relive his life from before he became a hero. Granted his wish, Allen returns to his humble beginnings with the knowledge and power of his past life, but with a crucial difference: he vows to never offer kindness without a price.

Haunted by the memories of a world ravaged by war and betrayal, Allen embarks on a second journey, this time determined to enjoy life, settle old scores, and navigate the treacherous landscape of gods, demons, and morally ambiguous humans with cynical pragmatism. He will once again face the Demon King, but on his own terms, and with a burning desire to manipulate the world around him for his own twisted amusement.
